Sierra Club and our supporters are inspired by nature to protect our planet – that precious environment we all share.
All too often, "the environment" is imagined as simply the mountains and woods where outdoorsy people go to hike, bike, or camp. But it's more personal than that.
The environment is the dirt ground into our children's jeans, the water piped into our homes, the fish on our dinner plates, the air we breathe when we're stuck in traffic. And yes, it's also the magnificent wildlands and forests that awe us with their beauty and draw us into new adventures, and it's the wildlife that share those wild places – and the planet – with us.We believe in enjoying the outdoors and making sure our kids and their kids can too. That's why we work with local communities and governments to preserve green spaces close to home, as well as our grand national landscapes.
